Wilsons Auctions shortlisted for two Energia Family Business Awards
Wilsons Auctions are delighted to be finalists for not one, but two awards at the upcoming Energia Family Business Awards.
Wilsons Auctions have been shortlisted for the Professional & Businesses Services Family Business Award, as well as the Rising Star Award which, Director and Auctioneer, Ricky Wilson has been shortlisted for.
The awards ceremony will take place online 18th - 22nd October and will recognise the resilience and adaptability of family run businesses across Ireland during the recent pandemic.
The theme of ‘Resilience Through Generations’ aims to showcase the success of Irish family businesses from SME to multinational.
Wilsons Auctions has been shortlisted for the Professional and Business Services Family Business Award which recognises the excellent services provided by family businesses in this industry. Over the last year and a half Wilsons Auctions, like many businesses, has had to develop in multiple ways to overcome challenges created as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
Decisions were quickly made to strengthen the online registration process, develop online payments, create a nationwide Click & Collect Process and make working from home a creative, supportive and comfortable setup. This focus on operational activities and reviewing the best way to deliver ongoing services in a sustainable manner in accordance with both buyer and seller requirements, opened the window for recent achievements.
Now hosting 40+ Online Auctions a week, online sales have grown by 30%. To further expand the business, Wilsons Auctions have now acquired West Oxfordshire Motor Auction Ltd.
The Family Business Rising Star Award recognises the work and achievements of an individual that is taking their family business to new heights. The recipient of this award will act as a great ambassador for the next generation of family business leaders.
Shortlisted for this award, Director and Auctioneer, Ricky Wilson has worked at Wilsons Auctions for over twenty-four years. He is one of four family members within the Wilsons Auctions business and began his journey at entry level of the company. Today as a Director of Wilsons Auctions and Chartered Surveyor, Ricky has conducted over 3,500 auctions in every spectrum, from aviation, property, nautical, and from all sizes of vendors from government bodies, financial institutions, dealerships, asset managers and all other sizes.
It is safe to say Ricky has a true passion for the world of auctioneering, valuing and remarketing of assets.
