Wilsons Auctions' Programme Empowers VRA Members with Unprecedented Benefits
Wilsons Auctions, the largest independent auction company across the UK and Ireland, is welcoming Vehicle Recyclers’ Association (VRA) members to bid on hundreds of government and seized vehicles, trucks, trailers and spare parts on a weekly basis.
Exclusive to the Vehicle Recyclers’ Association (VRA), all members are welcome to open a free bidding account for Wilsons Auctions’ dedicated Government and Seized Auctions. Presented in a timed online format, these weekly auctions open bidding at 8am on Thursday. Lots will begin to timeout in 1-minute intervals from 12 noon the same day.
The auctions feature a wide range of vehicles, including trailers, HGVs, commercial vehicles, trucks, cars, low loaders, and more. This diverse inventory presents various opportunities for VRA members looking to acquire specific types of vehicles for recycling or resale purposes.
The vehicles available in these auctions are located across the UK, providing VRA members with access to inventory from different regions, increasing the chances of finding vehicles suitable for their needs.
Complying with End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) Legislation, registered bidders are required to adhere to specific guidelines, including vehicle removal by Approved Treatment Facilities (ATFs), provision of Waste Transfer Notes (WTNs), and issuance of Certificates of Destruction (CODs) for each vehicle.
Wilsons Auctions' collaboration with VRA provides a convenient and advantageous platform for vehicle recycling professionals to access a variety of vehicles through government and seized vehicle auctions, facilitating their business operations and growth within the industry.
Working with multiple government contracts for many years, Wilsons Auctions now manages a total of 40 police force contracts across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland overseeing the collection, transportation, valuation, and sale of seized goods including cars and commercial vehicles. In 2023, the company announced securing contracts with 14 police forces nationwide to serve as their exclusive provider of auction services for seized goods.
Building upon this momentum, Wilsons Auctions was also thrilled to announce their successful inclusion in the prestigious UK-wide BlueLight Framework. Valued at £40,000,000, this framework is dedicated to the auction of vehicles, plant equipment, and various other items, serving the blue light services sector, which includes police forces and fire & rescue services.
Other vendors for VRA members to note include the DVLA, DVA and Border Force.
Specialists in auctions, Wilsons Auctions can offer VRA members a selection of disposal services for surplus stock.
