Wilsons Auctions packs a punch with £1.5 million Prestige auction

Over 1.5 million pounds worth of items set to go under the hammer tomorrow evening in our Unreserved Government Prestige & Property Auction.

WILSONS Auctions, the UK and Ireland’s largest independent auction company, is preparing for one of its most desirable auctions of the year, as a number of luxury and high-profile items are set to go under the hammer at its Unreserved Government Prestige & Property Auction on Wednesday 30th November at its Belfast branch.

As the auction company celebrates its 80th year in business, it is set to auction a selection of boats including the MV Hamal, a commercial tug boat which earlier this year was at the centre of the biggest drug haul in UK waters, with an estimated £512 million worth of cocaine seized onboard.

In addition there will be a variety of signed sports memorabilia from high-profile figures including Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis to Pele, Liverpool FC, George Best and Tiger Woods.

With over 100 items at no reserve in this Prestige auction, bidders will also have the opportunity to purchase from a large range of jewellery worth £350,000 from diamond rings, pendants, bracelets and earrings with over a dozen Rolex watches including a Rolex Tridor with 18ct Yellow Gold Case and 18ct Yellow Rose White Gold Bracelet worth £40,000.

Other items include Audi and BMW cars, a signed Nelson Mandela Autobiography, 63 small black diamond dice and motorbikes.

Wilsons Auctions’ Group Asset Recovery Manager, Aidan Larkin said, “We are very excited to be hosting our next Unreserved Government Prestige & Property Auction in our Belfast branch. With a host of luxury items including beautiful diamond jewellery and an array of Rolex watches to some fantastic sports memorabilia from some of the world’s most famous sports people, there really is an opportunity to purchase some high quality goods for an affordable price, just in time for Christmas.

“Wilsons Auctions is proud to facilitate government auctions each month including our prestige auction this month. The role we play in realising these important assets is vital to our clients and the process in being able to raise the money which ultimately goes straight back into the public purse. To date we have been responsible for returning in excess of £80 million to government coiffures. Items include government repossessed assets, proceeds of crime related assets as well as corporate liquidation stock, all of which are sold to the highest bidder with no reserve,” he added.

To celebrate the company’s 80th anniversary an online competition is running until 5pm on November 30th, giving one lucky winner the chance to win £500 cash, full details can be found on Wilsons Auctions Facebook page.

A family owned business, Wilsons Auctions was formed in 1936 in Northern Ireland and has grown to become the largest independent Auction Company in the British Isles with sites in the Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales.
