Two seized vessels under the hammer at Wilsons Auctions, without reserve.
The MV Albernina boat and 57 ft yacht, Golem, which were seized in separate operations by law enforcement officials for smuggling firearms and class A drugs.
On Thursday 30th June at 7pm, Wilsons Auctions Unreserved Government Auction will take place at the Belfast branch, in Northern Ireland. It will contain a large number of high value items going under the hammer to include a range of luxury watches; Breitling, Rolex, Audemars Piguet; top of the range sports cars to include an Audi R8 & RS3, BMW M4, Cartier jewellery and designer goods.
Alongside these exciting lots we have the 56 foot yacht Golem and the boat, MV Albernina, being auctioned with no reserve.
The “Golem” a 57-foot Nordia sloop yacht was intercepted by government officials on 31 August 2015 carrying almost a tonne of cocaine across the Atlantic from the southern Caribbean. The sailors onboard were sentenced to more than 34 years in prison.
Forensic tests on the packages revealed the cocaine was 70 percent pure, and if adulterated and sold in the UK would have had a potential street value of around £120 million.
The yacht will be sold alongside the 38 ft motor vessel “MV Albernina” which was used in the importation of firearms and resulted in the largest seizure of automatic weapons on the UK mainland.
