Transport for London Locomotives & Railway assets set for Auction!
Wilsons Auctions is thrilled to announce an exclusive auction featuring a remarkable selection of Locomotive and Railway assets, on behalf of Transport for London (TFL). TFL is a local government body responsible for overseeing London’s extensive transport system, including the iconic Underground network, an expansive fleet of buses, trams services, and maintaining over 580 kilometres of crucial main roads across the city.
With assets allocated for sale on Wednesday 14th August, the first auction will begin at 1:30pm at our Newcastle branch. Bidders can find an impressive lineup of 14 Schoma Locomotives. This diverse selection includes both robust diesel engines and innovative locomotives that have been converted to operate on batteries, showcasing TFL’s commitment to modernisation and sustainability in transport technology.
Rail enthusiasts and bidders alike will have the opportunity to acquire not just locomotives but also an array of additional railway equipment including hopper wagons that were essential for bulk material transportation, Cranes that were used for maintenance and construction projects on railways, and even a classic 1986 Rail wagon that evokes the rich history of British rail travel.
