Local Auction Company donates car and hosts a fun-packed event for the Deeside Community
As proud owners of John Summers Steelworks in Deeside, Wilsons Auctions has teamed up with the Enbarr Foundation to organise ‘Rock the Clocktower’ on Saturday 17th September. This community fun day is a free event and welcomes all ages to come along and enjoy what is planned to be a great day out.
Becoming quite the hub for community events, the the 13.5-acre site owned by Wilsons Auctions will see a range of local stalls and trade stands taking part in the day. Featuring Olly’s Fudge, Joolzery’s handmade jewellery, EGO scented wax, Fresh in Bloom’s floral design, with many more arts and craft stalls attending the event.
Opening at 11am and closing at 10pm, there will be live interactions such as Birds of Prey North Wales, Daltonwood Wood Carving, plus the Armed Forces and RFCA’s Spare wheel challenge also taking place throughout the day for everyone to get involved in.
Live music and entertainment were a huge hit at the last community event held at the Deeside location. The line-up for September’s event includes B4Tim, Screaming Devil Pleasure Beach, Tom Collins, Hollows, Mike Badger, Owen Chamberlain and Sean Seery kindly arranged by Cal Roberts and his team at 1619 studios.
A dedicated zone for kids has been organised with fairground rides and surprises to be revealed on the day.
Local food and event companies will be providing an amazing range of produce, giving the public the choice of Green Peas and Love, Hope Cottage Farm Shop, Jane and Phil’s Ice cream, The Swing Grill and Lavander Events.
The main event of the day will be the reveal of the raffle prize. By buying a £5 ticket, the public are in with the chance to win a 2015 Hyundai i20 which has been kindly donated by Wilsons Auctions. To raise vital funds for ‘Save the Clock Tower’, the generous raffle prize should attract plenty of interest,

Vicki Roskams, Engagement Manager and Director of Enbarr Foundations went on to say, ‘Thousands of people from the local communities attended the Jubilee Community Celebration event supported by The National Lottery Platinum Jubilee Fund which we held back in June. Each event at John Summers Steelworks is attracting more of the community and I hope the crowds return for another fabulous event. Wilsons Auctions who owns the site and is extremely supportive with the ongoing refurbishments and encourage the community events created by the community. The day in September will include Clock Tower tours and everyone is welcome to come and see how the refurbishment project is going so far.’
