Wilsons Auctions' Managing Director, Ian Wilson, along with senior leaders from the business community and the voluntary sector in Northern Ireland, were recently invited to a private meeting in Belfast with Mark Carney, the Bank of England Governor.
Hosted by the Community Foundation Northern Ireland, in partnership with the Bank of England, the Governor heard about the business and social issues impacting on Northern Ireland during the event at Belfast's new Grand Central Hotel.
Speaking of his attendance at the event, Ian Wilson said, "I am still getting over the honour and privilege of having been invited to meet a very interesting man who is passionate about the important role that he holds and to take part in the discussions along with fellow senior business leaders from across Northern Ireland."
Bank of England Northern Ireland Agent, Frances Hill said "Our role in NI is to make sure that the Governor and the Bank of England have a well-rounded view of economic conditions and prospects from across the country. This event was a great opportunity for the Governor to gather first-hand the most up-to-date information, views and experiences from Northern Ireland."
