Ian Wilson honoured with NAMA Hall of Fame Award
To honour outstanding contributions to the automotive and auction industry, the National Association of Motor Auctions (NAMA) presented the very first ‘Hall of Fame’ Award to Ian Wilson.
Ian Wilson, Managing Director of Wilsons Auctions is the second generation of the Wilson family to manage the auction company. In his time with the business, Ian has grown the company from a single auction site in Northern Ireland to now overseeing 19 sites and becoming the largest independent auction company in the UK and Ireland, boasting an annual sales figure exceeding £500 million.
This commendation took place during the NAMA Executive Meeting on July 9, 2024, at the Wilsons Auctions venue in Newcastle. NAMA serves as a representative body for its member auction organisations, ranging in size and operating in the sale of cars, commercial and off-road vehicles. As a forward-looking entity, NAMA reflects the vitality and transformation within the auction sector. Its members adhere strictly to a detailed Code of Practice, ensuring reliability for both purchasers and sellers. NAMA member companies are responsible for selling approximately 95% of wholesale vehicles in the UK.
