First Auction Ever Held in Former Irish Houses of Parliament, in Aid of Charity

Wilsons Auctions conducted first ever auction within the former Irish Houses of Parliament, in aid of Parkinson's Association Ireland.

Wilsons Auctions were honoured to be invited to conduct the first ever auction within the former Irish Houses of Parliament, the world's first purpose-built two-chamber parliament house in aid of Parkinson's Association Ireland. 

The auction took place on Wednesday 13th April in the beautiful setting of the House of Lords room in the former houses of parliament building, known today as Bank of Ireland, College Green. 78 pieces of art were donated to the auction by designer and painter Harold Huberman who, himself, suffers from Parkinson's disease. 30 pieces were auctioned off via live auction and then a further 48 pieces were sold via silent auction. 

Auctioneer on the evening, Ricky Wilson of Wilsons Auctions said; "We were delighted to have been involved in this event helping to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. This was a particularly unique charity auction event, as not only did we conduct the auction on a podium which has been occupied by 2 presidents of the United States, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, but we were reliably informed that this was the first auction ever held in the room which dates back to 1802." 

Harold's daughter Irish actress, Amy Huberman and son-in-law Brian O'Driscoll, were both there to show their support for the charity auction for Parkinson's Association Ireland.
