The DeLorean DMC-12, famously known for its role in the iconic "Back to the Future" film trilogy, holds a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts worldwide. With its distinctive stainless-steel body and gull-wing doors, the DeLorean remains a symbol of innovation and timeless design. Just 8583 of John DeLorean’s revolutionary gull-winged sports cars rolled off the production line at Dunmurry before the company collapsed in February 1982.
Wearing VIN 11167, this special vehicle was one of the 12 vehicles offered at the historic Auction held at the Culloden Hotel in September 1982. On the instructions of Northern Ireland Carriers all 12 cars were to be sold without reserve. It was the first time any DeLorean vehicles have been offered for sale publicly in the United Kingdom, making this one of a very small number of cars that has never left the province.
Interested buyers will be keen to see the vehicle only has clocked 1,520 miles in its lifetime. Located just miles from the original factory birthplace of this iconic car, Wilsons Auctions Belfast provides a fitting backdrop for this historic auction, further enhancing the connection between the vehicle and its legacy.
Just like the historic auction, this vehicle will once again be offered to the public with No Reserve. The auction is set to commence on Wednesday 15th May at 1pm in a timed online format. Bidders from around the globe will have the chance to participate in this exclusive event before bidding begins to timeout from 1pm on Monday 20th May.

Interested bidders can view the vehicle at Wilsons Auctions Belfast Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. From Wednesday 15th May the rare sports car will be displayed at the Balmoral Show, Lisburn until Saturday 18th May.
