2nd Largest Zinc Mine in Europe to Sell Used Mining & Plant Equipment at Auction
On 24th September, The Lisheen Mine will be selling off thousands of pieces of equipment and materials by public auction.
On 24th September, The Lisheen Mine will be selling off all remaining equipment and materials by public auction which is being conducted by the largest independent auction company in Ireland & the UK, Wilsons Auctions.
Thousands of items are expected to go under the hammer in an onsite auction at the premises of The Lisheen Mine in Co. Tipperary to include; Dumptrucks, porter trucks, scalers, scoops, scissor lifts, drill rigs, engines, garage equipment, poster lifts & much more!
Activity at The Lisheen Mine, owned by Vedanta Resources, concluded in December of last year, with its last shipment taking place in January 2016.
The operation at The Lisheen Mine consisted of an underground mine, concentrator and backfill plant and produced approximately 300,000 tonnes of zinc concentrate and 38,000 tonnes of lead concentrate every year.

Viewings for the auction will take place on Thursday 22nd September, Friday 23rd September from 9am-5pm and on the morning of the auction which takes place at 9.30am on the premises of The Lisheen Mine, Killoran, Moyne, Thurles, Co. Tipperary, Ireland. All lots will be uploaded to the Wilsons Auctions website everyday in the lead up to the auction.
