Wilsons Auctions has received instructions from Brian Hegarty & Fiona Fearon of HCA Group to seek offers for the intellectual property rights, relating to Liopa Ltd by way of Private Treaty Tender (sealed bids).

Set up in 2015, Liopa Ltd is development of lip reading technology focusing on visual speech recognition (VSR) and visual voice generation (VVG). At the time, Liopa said its VSR technology was the product of over 50 ‘man-years’ of research.

VISUAL SPEECH RECOGNITION (VSR)

• aka automated Lip Reading
• Deep learning pipeline trained to decipher speech from analysis of speaker lip movements
• Development began in 2018 and used in all Liopa offerings

VISUAL VOICE GENENATION (VVG) 

• Deep learning pipeline trained to create audio track synonymous with speaker’s lip movements
• Development began in 2022 and used in SRAVI
